To maximize the effectiveness of a ribbon LED display, you must align installation height with viewing distance. This directly influences pixel pitch selection and content design.
For ceiling-mounted installations, viewers typically stand farther away. In this scenario, you can use a larger pixel pitch, such as P4 to P10. At the same time, design content with larger text and simplified visuals to maintain readability.
For mid-height installations, such as wall-mounted displays at eye level, viewers interact at closer distances. Here, a finer pixel pitch—around P2 to P4—provides better clarity. You should also balance detail and readability in your content.

For ground-level installations, proximity becomes critical. People may view the screen from just a few feet away, so you need high resolution, typically P1.5 to P2.5. In addition, use bold typography and high-contrast visuals to ensure clarity.
You should also consider viewing angles. Ribbon displays often stretch across long distances, so viewers approach them from different directions. Design content that remains legible from multiple perspectives.
Finally, test your design in real-world conditions. Simulations help, but actual viewing environments provide the most accurate feedback.
By aligning hardware and content with user behavior, you can significantly enhance the viewing experience.
